On the mark Ed. In this day and age of the liberalisation of the human mind en masse with a soapbox for all, we appear also to be lost. We are in part in a void from release of religious lockdown on one hand while on the other hand not having our feet always firmly planted in ethics. The core values, that religions, spiritualism and philosophies all have in common because these values actually belong to humans and reside inside us, are being drowned in the commercial noise, where brand belonging has a part. Most of us are made to belong in group, here we find comfort and security. But the brand is a manufactured facsimile of a group that you only can belong to if you pay for it. We cant develop from inside by a brand from outside. As you so well put it, we ought to develop our own brands through connection with our own core values. Wishful thinking? No, we are hard wired through mirror neurons to be able to feel others emotions. That´s a good start.

In terms of the docking connector issue I mentioned in this artice, I have found a few alternatives to the Apple devices which are either unavailable yet or expensive.
Real nice review this one Ed, I will hang on to my 4 4 long time. Love it as much as my iPad. Given all the items that you now cant drive w/o 30 pin connector and size, I think there will be a healthy aftermarket as a result of misguided individuals who upgrade to 5.

A tip for all those who have the love pf photography from the iPhone. I bet your hand is always jerky while taking pictures if you do not have the above stands. Use the headphones for this purpose. The button on the headphones will act as the camera button while connected to the iPhone. Use it by placing the iPhone in a stagnant position.

A follow-up to a portion of this article (that pictures from a public location ONTO private property are perfectly legal) - news just released that Google has acquired a fleet of small aircraft from which they plan to photography entire cities from relatively low altitude in order to build high resolution 3D maps as an enhancement to GoogleMaps. While in practice the 45° angle of view employed will minimize "Personally Identifiable Information" (i.e. your face) if you are in the habit of frolicking in your back yard 'au natural' you might want to wave the next time you hear a small plane flying overhead...

My original comment about aerial photography was based on Google satellite shots - which are amazing enough in terms of resolution... however I honestly think that most of us will just shrug and go on. We really are living in a different paradigm in terms of our 'expectation of privacy.' You can read some details at http://bit.ly/K0d6HP

Yes - most people actually don't notice at all! They are so busy texting or taking pictures themselves, or Yelping to find a pizza, or... But like any interaction with people, if they do notice you, a direct soft smile - an acknowlegement that they have added a little something to your day, your life... goes a lot further than acting furtive or embarrassed. I happen to pursue photography (streetphotography in particular) as my personal passion and have evolved over time. I now like to think that I see a person, a scene, a moment, in an interesting and postive way - so any photo that I take and would post or print should make the subject proud of that moment. I look for interest, beauty, uniqueness, emotion, evocative - and try to interpret that. I have found that is pretty much respected. Feel free to drop by www.pinterest.com/amitaba for some samples.

Very well written and interesting article. I'm working up courage to take photographs of people on the street. There is what is legal (which is about anything) and what is polite and good form. This is expanding day by day - I've found that most people are so used to being photographed they don't show any reaction at all - which is good.

Thanks for sharing.
