Parasam means to “go beyond” – “parasam gate” [pronounced pa’-raa-saam gah-tay’] literally means to ‘go beyond the beyond’ – from the original Sanskrit dating back to approx. 350 AD.
In this context the purpose of this blog is to discuss, stimulate and provoke thought about “what is beyond” the surface. I’ll offer some explanations, opinions and observations on topics that interest me: photography, video/audio post-production, design, fashion, philosophy and science. I’m fascinated with how humans perceive and interact with advanced technology – and like to discuss the challenges these rapid changes bring to the rest of our lives: our social, legal, moral and spiritual lives must adapt to the technical capabilities that are now in so many of our hands.
Curious by nature; formed under the study of hard science; experienced in all aspects of digital content production – still and moving imagery, sound and metadata; now desiring to connect and share this accumulation of perception/understanding/remembering.
Please comment – this blog is intended to start a dialog, not put out yet another monologue into the blogosphere…

Just always attribute my work – it’s there for free, I only ask that you respect the time and energy I put out by always crediting or linking back to this blog site. I occasionally share work of others – and I make every attempt to accurately acknowledge their contributions. The bulk of the words, pictures and diagrams posted here are mine, and are copyrighted.
